Commerical Facade Project

In August 2014, ROTG members Jennifer Hollingshead, Ezra Hill and Dr. Charles Landon formed a steering committee to seek a grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) to restore and renovate the facades of buildings in Old Town. ROTG partnered with the City of Greenwood and, in August 2015, received a $400,000 grant from OCRA for 22 downtown facades. The goal of the project was to restore the building facades to look similar to their original forms and improve the overall appearance of the Old Town area.

The budget for the project was approximately $1.5 million and was funded by the OCRA grant, the city’s Redevelopment Commission and building owners.

Construction began in May 2016 and wrapped up in early 2017.
